Oasis 99
Tipton, CA

Focusing on themes of Innovation, Conservation, and Restoration Oasis 99, a finalist in a competition for a model sustainable rest stop for California's Central Valley, provides a respite for travelers and acts as a powerful educational tool for how we can live with a limited footprint on the earth.

A constructed wetland naturally treats wastewater for re-use onsite, PV panels mounted on stressed bamboo towers provide all power needs, and much of the site is restored to native grasslands.
